ecords show that the Horse and Jockey was a coaching Inn at the turn of the 19th century. It was linked with the old Lichfield racecourse and was part of the Freeford estate until the 1950s. The annual sheriffs' ride used to meet here for a sup, as seen on the picture by the entrance.

For the last sixteen years the Horse and Jockey has thrived on a continued successful reputation for serving fresh, homemade food at reasonable prices to discerning diners.
